Not only do I work for the Indiana Alzheimer's Disease Research Center, but I am also witnessing my grandpa have dementia. It started affecting him out of nowhere, and it's progression seems to be steadily increasing. We are noticing him getting agitated easily, and being repetitive. Sometimes he will call my dad for something, but forgets what he was calling for. Most times, when he does call, what he says doesn't make much sense. I'm thankful for my aunt and cousins, who take care of him and make sure he eats and takes his medications. I'm also thankful for my dad, who helps whenever he can. It's hard to watch someone you love get older, but it's harder when they start to lose their memory.
By participating in the Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s, I’m raising awareness and funds to advance the fight against this disease — funds that allow the Alzheimer’s Association to provide 24/7 care and support while accelerating critical research. My goal is to reach $150, and with your help I hope to reach that goal...or maybe more!
Thank you for your support!
