This year, along with my family and friends, I will once again be participating in The Walk to End Alzheimer's in honor of my mother, Anna Unroe, who passed away in August 2021 from complications of ALZ.
This is a devastating disease, not just for those afflicted with it, but also for the caregivers, family members, and others who must live with the daily emotional and physical toll. Sometimes it can linger for years---the progression taking more and more of the loved one away each day. Other times it can progress rapidly as it did (thankfully) with my Mom. But the outcome is the same as there is still no cure for Alzheimer's.
I and my siblings--Nancy, Judy, & Tim--would appreciate your support, however you can, in our fight to help end ALZ. To join us in our walk (I am walking in both Indiana and Florida this year), or to give a monetary donation to me or our team, visit the Alzheimer's Walk page at www.alz.org/walk and search for team "Penguin Train". All support---physical/virtual walking, monetarily, or just prayers and good wishes---is welcomed and appreciated.
Thank you and someday, there WILL be a cure!
