We, the Crook Family Team, are participating in the 2024 Walk to End Alzheimer's in memory of our family matriarch Anne Crook, who was diagnosed with Alzheimer's Disease in 2009 and passed away on December 26, 2015 at the age of 70. Her father, Hubert Keenan, also died of complications from Alzheimer's Disease on October 1, 1999. The Walk this year will be held on Saturday, September 28, at IUPUI's Carroll Stadium in Indianapolis. The goal of the Walk is to raise awareness of Alzheimer's and to raise funds for the Alzheimer's Association. Anne never stopped fighting to live a life of dignity and joy while facing the painful daily realities of living with the disease, and we will continue to fight in her honor and for the years of future memories we have lost with her. 

   Alzheimer's Disease is the sixth leading cause of death in the US, and the only major cause of death for which there is no effective treatment and cure. Over 5 million people in the US currently have the disease, and many millions more suffer collateral damage as caregivers and family members of those afflicted. It's appropriately been described as a tsunami which threatens to overwhelm our health care system and millions of additional families like ours.

   We are asking for you to consider giving a donation of support for our team as we walk in memory of our wife, mom and nana. All donations help to advance research to treat and prevent Alzheimer's Disease, and to fund programs and community initiatives of the Alzheimer's Association across Indiana that give individuals and families access to vital information to learn how to cope with and manage every day life in the face of a diagnosis. Our family benefitted greatly from these services; the Alzheimer's Association and its compassionate and knowledgeable staff is who we turned to at the deepest turns in our journey with Anne.
