One in nine people 65 and older has Alzheimer's dementia, and one in three seniors dies with Alzheimer's or another dementia. Many of my friends have been impacted by family members or loved ones going through this cruel disease.
I participate in the Walk to End Alzheimer's to help raise awareness and finances that provide support to caregivers, and fund research to prevent, slow, and cure Alzheimer's disease. It is personal for me because I don't want any other family members of mine (including me) to be diagnosed before we can come up with a cure.
Alzheimer's and dementia is such a cruel disease for caregivers and truly takes a toll. The Alzheimer's Association provides tips, support groups, live chat, and other resources to help that journey. ( If this applies to you, visit https://www.alz.org/help-support/caregiving)
If you would also like to see more research for a cure or would like to provide support to caregivers, please donate now or join our team and start your own fundraising. Together, eventually, we can end Alzheimer’s disease.
Thank you!
