Hello Friends!

Once again our family is raising funds and awareness for finding a cure for Alzheimer's Disease. We will be walking, as a family, on Saturday, September 9th. 

Our team name is Joan's Journey, named for David and Dorann's mother, Joan, who lost her battle with Alzheimer's in February 2021 after suffering for many years. Before Alzheimer's, Joan was very active. She rode bicycles, played golf, traveled, and enjoyed her grandchildren. After Alzheimer's came into her life, she became quiet and only a shell of the once vibrant person she was. We also honor my Aunt Alma who was diagnosed with Alzheimer's and lost her battle several years ago.  

The worse part of this disease is how it steals one's life, one memory at a time. It separates loved ones and cheats families out of years of togetherness and joy. Once vibrant, busy people no longer are able to do what was once so important to them.
