Hello friend!
I am walking to honor my grandfather, Anthony Peressini. The patriarch of our very large Italian family, he is known by many names: Husband, Dad, Grandpa, Bapo (to the great-grandkids). A caring, funny, hardworking, loving example to all of his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as well as their spouses.
My grandfather is also the smartest man I know. Having earned his Ph. D in mathematics in 1961, he wrote books on precalculus, discrete math, the mathematics of nonlinear programming as well as mathematics books for other educators. He taught at the collegiate level for 35 years and is professor emeritus at University of Illinois.
My grandpa has dementia, but that doesn't stop him from putting a smile on every one of our faces. The immense joy on his face when he holds his grandchildren is contagious. He is genuinely interested in hearing what we are all up to every time we are together. He is truly a blessed treasure to our entire family.
Love you Bapo!
Thank you.
