My grandpa was the smartest person I will ever know. He was a mathematician, theologian, linguist, historian, genealogist, poet, editor, author, storyteller, citizen of the world and lover of the arts. Despite his long list of academic and professional accomplishments, his family and faith were his crowning joys. He and the love of his life were married for 67 years, and they never took a single second with her for granted. He was a gentleman in every sense of the word until the very end.
It was devastating to watch dementia steal his brilliance and his life. My grandpa is the reason why I'm leading the way to Alzheimer's first survivor by participating in the Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer's®. Currently, more than 6 million Americans have Alzheimer's and that number is expected to grow to nearly 13 million by 2050. Our future is at risk unless we can find a way to change the course of this disease.
Together, we can end Alzheimer's disease. Please make a donation to advance the care, support and research efforts of the Alzheimer's Association.
Thank you for joining the fight against Alzheimer's!
