Alzheimer's is a disease that has had a direct personal impact on me as I've watched family members and close friends battle the effects on a daily basis: Answering the same questions over and over again because they can't retain what you are saying. Holding a conversation when you know full-well that they don't even know who you are. And wondering if I will put my own family through the difficulties of this hereditary disease as I age. I've already lost sev important people in my life in the past two years: one to Lewy Body Dementia and two to Alzheimer's.
