My flower in the Promise Garden is orange, because I walk in support of a world without Alzheimer's and all other dementia.
I support my dearest friend Susan, who lost her sister to the disease. Hearing her story and the things this disease does to a loved one is heartbreaking and has inspired me to help raise awareness and fundraise so that we may understand and find a cure. Upon my discussions about my participation in my first Walk to End ALZ, I also learned that my best friend lost two great-grandmothers to the disease as well.
I'm a part of a team that was started to honor Barbara, who was fighting her battle with Alzheimer's. The team is led by Barbara's sister, Susan. Barbara was able to participate in the walk for 2 years while battling the disease. In 2019, Barbara lost her battle with Alzheimers. Susan continues to honor her sister's memory by leading the team, Walking 4 A Cure.
Families facing Alzheimer’s and all other dementia need us now more than ever — and with your help, we can be there for them. Please make a donation or register as a participant and start your own fundraising. Together, we can end Alzheimer’s disease.
Thank you for helping me and my team in honoring Barbara and the many others.
