My wife, Kris, died in January 2021 at Grand View Alzheimer’s Special Care Center in Peoria. She had been a resident there since August 2018, after I could no longer provide adequate care for her in our home. Kris’s 10-year struggle with Alzheimer’s disease is now over and she is at peace. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. The photo on this page perfectly captures her personality.
Countless others still struggle with this devastating disease that robs them of their quality of life in their later years. They need our help and the Alzheimer’s Association needs our financial support. Held annually in more than 600 communities nationwide, the Walk to End Alzheimer’s is the world’s largest fundraiser for Alzheimer’s care, support and research.
Fundraising for the Alzheimer’s Association is a family affair. My son, Geoff, his wife, Allison, my daughter, Gretchen Moon, and her husband, Joe, all direct their donations to my site. My siblings, from Maine and Los Angeles, also solicit donations to my site from their friends. Our collective 6-year total is nearly $139,000. We have consistently been among the top fundraisers in Illinois and in the nation. We are again partnering in our fundraising efforts with the Grandview Guys & Gals team.
Please consider a generous donation to advance the efforts of the Alzheimer’s Association. Please help them find a cure. You will feel good about this. Thank you.
