I lost my oldest sister, Letha to Alzheimer's/dementia. I am raising money and participating in the Mattoon/Charleston Alzheimer's in memory of my sister as well as so many others that I know who are battling this terrible disease.
Letha was an important part of my life. She was more than a sister she was my second mom. She was always there for me from the day I was born. I was always included as part of her family and grew up with her kids. Those kids were my sisters and brothers. It was so hard to see the lady that I love lose so many memories and struggle to process things.
I hate to think of any other family having to deal with this terrible disease but currently, more than 5 million Americans have Alzheimer's and that number is expected to grow to as many as 16 million by 2050. Our future is at risk unless we can find a way to change the course of this disease.
The end of Alzheimer's disease starts with YOU!
Please make a donation today to help the Alzheimer's Association advance research into methods of treatment, prevention and, ultimately, a cure. I pray that it is found soon so no one else has to suffer from this devastating disease.
I hope that you will join the movement.
Thank you,
Karla
