My Mom, Marlene, is an extraordinary person. She has spent herentire life serving others, as a daughter, sister, mother, wife and as aremarkable elementary school teacher and reading specialist in the ChicagoPublic School system. Marlene has been diagnosed with Alzheimer's, and I amwalking in support of her.
Alzheimer's runs on my mother's side of the family, and we'vehad many family members fall victim to this brutal disease, including Marlene'sfather Phil. I know firsthand the support and help that families facingAlzheimer's need. The Alzheimer's Association is an extraordinary organization,and leads the way in Alzheimer's care, support and research. I am walking toget this organization more resources in the fight!
