Who.  Do.  You.  Know?

Tragically, with well over 6,000,000 Americans currently suffering through Alzheimer's Disease, and an additional 15,000,000+ Caregivers suffering right along with them, it is so very, very likely that you personally know someone, likely a family member or a family member of a dear friend, who has been diagnosed with, is giving care for, or has died as a result from, Alzheimer’s or one of the related dementias.

And you know all too well that you have "lost" that dear person well before they have actually passed away.

My mother (AKA Moma Lee), both Aunt Florences, Aunt Rita, Papa Pete, Dearest Mary, Tina's Mom, Eddy's Dad, Zonya’s Mom, Phil's Mom, Tom’s brother, Kathe’s mom, Carol’s and Nancy's and Joe’s and Don’s Dad, Cheryl’s Mom...  This horrible list goes on and on and on.

Because every single case of Alzheimer's is just that — its own, unique, "case" — beating this scourge has not been easy in the past, is not easy now, and will not be easy in the future, but what gives us HOPE is the profusion of folks, just like you and me, who are willing to dig as deeply as possible to fund the dedicated scientists and teams who are fighting, fighting, fighting this battle to find that one thing, those 100 things, thousand things, the however-many-it-takes things to find THE things that conquer this curse.
