We will be walking this year in honor of our Mother/Grammy, Kathy Campbell, who has Logopenic Primary Progressive Aphasia that stems from a type of Alzheimer's. Alzheimer's is like losing your loved one twice as you lose them before they really pass away, and every day is different. Alzheimer's being combined with PPA means our Mom/Grammy has lost many abilities to communicate which makes the process even harder.

The best advice I could pass along to others who are on the journey of Alzheimer's with a loved one is to love them for who they are in every moment, as that will change over time and even over a few minutes. Love them for their new person and not have expectations for who they were or should be. Find peace in the silence, and it's ok to just be with them as you don't have to fill the silence with words. Just be there to love on them - that's what they need.

We promise to continue to be a voice for you Mammy and care for you - I love you more. My Mom/Grammy has the best personality and I thank God for every moment that I get to see that shining through even as those moments happen less over time. I am so thankful for my Mom showing me what true unconditional love looks like and means.

November is Alheimerz month and I hope that people choose love and loving people for who they are every changing day/moment. My heart is with all of those out there that are effected by this disease and the pain in brings. I know God will make all things whole again in heaven. I See You Mammy.
