I am walking to honor my husband, Pat who was diagnosed with early onset Alzheimer’s  Disease at the age of 58 years. The illness caused him to retire early from a job he loved. I have seen his continued decline in skills since his diagnosis over 4 yers ago. He was an intelligent fun loving strong person. I have continued to see him lose skills and develop more confusion. That has been the most difficult part of the disease . . . To see him struggle. He has continued to be in good spirits and faced this challenge with courage. I pray that one day there will be a survivor of this terrible and unkind disease.
