I'm leading the way to Alzheimer's first survivor by participating in the Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer's®. Currently, more than 5 million Americans have Alzheimer's and that number is expected to grow to as many as 16 million by 2050.
I am walking to honor my husband, Pat who was diagnosed with early onset Alzheimer’s disease at the age of 58. The diagnosis changed our lives forever. I watched Pat change and progress over several years . I watched our children gradually lose the father they knew and loved. Sadly, Pat lost his battle with this awful disease on November 14 , 2019. With Alzheimer's disease, you lose your loved one twice. First, when your loved one gradually loses skills and memories as the dementia progresses. Second, when your loved one loses his life to the disease.
Please join me and my family as we walk to end Alzheimer’s and find a cure to have the first survivor of this terrible disease.
Thank you! Fran Jackson
