My mom was 'Grandma Marian' to all those she met. She was the first person to offer to help whether that be by making a pot of soup, baking her delicious cookies, or just being there for those she loved. She loved to tell stories, laugh, and smile. Dementia took many things from her - but never her spirit. She still tried to tell the stories and she continued to laugh and smile. Her kind heart remained and until it she took her final breath.
I am walking with Sunset Park Place to honor my mom. The caregivers at SPP were amazing! Caring for those with dementia is not an easy task. I am walking to honor my mom and to raise awareness and and funds to advance the fight against Alzheimers and dementia.
Families facing Alzheimer’s and all other dementia need us — and with your help, we can be there for them. Please make a donation or register as a participant and start your own fundraising efforts. Together, we can end Alzheimer’s and dementia.
