The beautiful children in the picture above made a significant contribution to the Walk to End Alzheimers. By collecting pennies at home and putting them in our Pilot Wishing Well, the 42 classes at the Primary School have helped so many people. With the video puppet show, featuring Jackie Jones, they learned about dementia and how it affects families. This year we hope that the children can learn more about dementia and volunteerism to help others. We have a new Pilot Club Wishing Well that is bit more convenient to move around town and we will have a local Cochran Walk on October 13th at noon in front of the Courthouse. We hope to have many people join us on a short walk to show support in the battle to End Alzheimers.
Each year, the Walk to End Alzheimer's has a campaign to bring awareness to the ongoing development of Alzheimers and other dementias. These may be caregivers, spouses, children, or complete strangers that want to help in the effort to find a cure! All funds raised through this walk further the care, support, and research efforts of the Alzheimer's Association and stay in the Middle Georgia area.
Being a part of an awareness campaign can be quite fulfilling. If you would like to be a part of our Middle Georgia group walking for the cure, please go onto the website . Join my team, the Pilot Club of Cochran, or sign up individually. If you cannot walk, contact any Pilot Club member who will be happy to collect your donations. Invest in a future without Alzheimer's and make a difference in the lives of those facing dementia.
