Denise's diagnosis in October 2012 was a surprise. She did all she could do to continue life the only way she knew.... full speed ahead!  Yet this disease had other plans and she passed away on September 26, 2021.

Denise's love of water was pervasive throughout her life.  She grew up near the ocean, went sailing, skiing and was a great swimmer.  While living with the disease she still participating in an aqua fit class and swam laps like she had been doing since she was a kid.  Our team name "Swim Fins" honors her love of water and swimming.
