I'm leading the way to Alzheimer's first survivor by participating in the Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer's(R). Currently, more than 6 million Americans have Alzheimer's and that number is expected to grow to as many as 16 million by 2050. Our future is at risk unless we can find a way to change the course of this disease.
Our journey began when my mom was diagnosed with dementia in 2016. Her diagnosis devastated our family as we anticipated what the future held for us as a family. Our lives were hit hard again when my father was diagnosed with dementia in 2018. The road has been hard watching two people we love so much be robbed of the life they should have enjoyed in their golden years after so many years of hard work and sacrifice for their family. It is our goal to raise funds for research, care and awareness of this horrible disease in hopes for a future where it no longer devastates anymore families.
