Alzheimer's disease isn't stopping and neither are we. Currently more than 7 million Americans have Alzheimer’s and that number is expected to grow to 16 million by 2050.
On November 16, we will be walking in the Miami Walk to End Alzheimer's, in honor of our sister, Maria Celeste Beguiristain Shohat, who passed away in 2021 from Early Onset Alzheimer’s. We invite you to join us as we continue to support the mission of the Alzheimer's Association to find a cure for Alzheimer's and all other dementias.
Thanks to your support and the fundraising efforts of so many we have made great strides in research and support. We are now in the Era of Treatment. The Alzheimer’s Association celebrates the U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s (FDA) action to approve donanemab (Kisunla™) for the treatment of people living with early symptomatic Alzheimer’s disease, which includes mild cognitive impairment and the mild dementia stage of Alzheimer’s disease, with confirmed amyloid plaques. With multiple FDA-approved Alzheimer’s treatments now available, early detection and diagnosis are even more critical to ensure individuals receive the most benefit.
Such promising and exciting news is cause for celebration, but we must continue to support the Alzheimer's Association in order to find a cure for this devastating disease.
We need your help, as a community we need to fight this disease. Please support our team, Team Maria Shohat in the Miami Walk to End Alzheimer's, every donation, big or small, counts. Your support will fund care, support and much needed research to find a cure for Alzheimer's.
Together, we can end Alzheimer's disease.
