This is my fourth year swimming an ultramarathon swim to End Alzheimer's! This year (2023) I'm going to swim the length of Lake Tahoe on July 19th! The swim is epic -- 21 miles, cold water, high altitude, start at 7PM (night swim) and should take over 13 hours to complete. All the proceeds will go to the Florida Alzheimer's Chapter to raise awareness and funds for dementia and Alzheimer's disease. I will be accompanied during the swim by a captain, observers, and my amazing support crew/ cousins (Maria Yanda and Matthew Knapp).
Here's the Link to the Live Tracker
I'm dedicating the first mile to my Uncle Tom who passed four years ago from dementia. His daughter, Maria Yanda, is our team captain is on a frontline of fighting the disease as a Physician Assistant in a Nursing Home and Dementia Care -- she's a real hero. The rest of these arduous miles will be dedicated to anyone you want me to swim for that was impacted by this grueling disease.
Let's Go! Time to beat this disease!
