I have been doing the Walk to End Alzheimer’s since 2013. I will do it until I no longer can. There has to be a cure for this horrific disease and I want to be able to do my small part in helping find it.
The genetic history is strong in my family. My Grandmother had Alzheimer's back in the late 90's and then my Mother was diagnosed in 2013. I fight for myself, my brothers, my child, my niece, grandson and I fight for the people who don’t know a thing about this horrible disease.
Alzheimer's is the 6th leading cause of death in the United States but the awareness and conversations about it is rising. Raising more awareness leads to less stigma about the disease. We do this walk every year because it is important not just for my family but for future families who will have to deal with this horrible disease.
But without people like myself and everyone else fighting for a cure it will never happen. So please, help us help ourselves and others.
There is a first survivor.... we will find one!
