My name is RBI, like a "Run Batted In" and pronounced Ribby. I lost my most favorite person - my Grammy - to Alzheimer's in March of 2022. She was my favorite person in the whole world. I would sit in her lap all day, unless she was taking me for a walk. I loved walking with my Grammy because she let me go anywhere I wanted. She also shared her food with me, even her cookies! Sometimes she would even feed me a third meal because she would forget that I had already eaten!
Then one day, she was gone. I didn't see her for a very long time. I heard my family talking to her in the kitchen on something they called the portal. They seemed so sad too that they couldn't see her because of something called Covid. Then on Christmas Day 2021, I got to see my Grammy again! She was in a wheel chair and everyone was talking on the drive over that she wasn't speaking real words anymore. But as soon as she saw me she said "There's the boy, oh look at him. Oh you're such a good boy. I know, I haven't seen you for a long time." She KNEW ME and could speak real words! I got to visit her in her new home for two days. Then I never saw her again. My grammy died three months later on March 23, 2022.
Please help me raise money and awareness, so that others like me don't lose their loved ones to this cruel and miserable disease. I am walking in my fourth Alzheimer's Walk, this is the second I have registered for. I want to raise more money than my cousin Twinkie, so any donation helps!
