This is year 11 for Laura’s Girls & Friends and we remain dedicated to making a difference.
Year 1 started for our mom, Laura, after she received her official ALZ diagnosis. As our friends and family spoke up & joined our team, we quickly realized this mission was about so much more than just us and our mom, it was about all of us.
After our mom passed, our dedication didn't waiver - the mission was still real and global. We walked for everyone who has, is, or may some day travel the Alzheimer’s journey –as a person living with ALZ and/or the caregivers. All who come in so many forms. .
Then that mission hit home again when Ruth, and my sister-in-law Cathie, were both diagnosed with mild cognitive impairment, later officially identified to be early on-set Alzheimer's Disease.
In support of my sister Ruth, and my sister-in-law Cathie; and, in memory of my mom, Laura, and for everyone in the throws of dementia/Alzheimer's at any level - I invite you to join our team and/or support us with donation. All donations, no matter the size, will help to make a difference.
There is significant progress being made in the fight against Alzheimer’s – research, drug therapies, support groups, etc. which is a great thing. But there is so much more still needed.
Ruth, Sandy and I were asked to share a bit of our story for the NCA Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association 2024 Vision Gala that took place on May 3rd in Washington, DC. Our story is here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NtNVnp0RnV0
Please help me and our Laura's Girls & Friends team have an impact on this devastating disease. Please make your tax deductible donation today.
Thank you!
Ellen
