I walk for my mom! Charlene was the most vibrant, social person I ever met! She ran circles around and helped in anyway she could! When her dementia took over and extinguished her light, a star went out in the sky! We lost her not once but twice ! Watching her disappear and not know things and people, not speak, not read or watch the Hallmark channel , not host parties and be with her friends and grandchildren broke our hearts! After she died in 2019, my mother in law also had a diagnosis of dementia and died in 2021! I walk the walk and fundraiser to honor them and help other families not to go through what we did!
I'm leading the way to Alzheimer's first survivor by participating in the Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer's®. Currently, more than 5 million Americans have Alzheimer's and that number is expected to grow to as many as 16 million by 2050. Our future is at risk unless we can find a way to change the course of this disease.
Together, we can end Alzheimer's disease. Please make a donation to advance the care, support and research efforts of the Alzheimer's Association.
Thank you for joining the fight against Alzheimer's!
