Will you help us reach our team fundraising goal of $5,000.00 by making a donation today? Mom was a devoted tennis player even after her diagnosis so we’ve called the team Joan’s Backhand.
As her Alzheimer's progressed, conversational volleys became more of a struggle than her octogenarian backhand on the tennis court but she never lost her quick laugh or sunny spirit. As she struggled with the disease she became very anxious, she knew something was wrong but couldn't really understand what or what to do about it. The stress ultimately was too much for her and, as fit as she was, she passed away October 4th 2018 after suffering a heart attack as she got ready for bed. In fact, her death certificate reads, "Cardiac arrest caused by Alzheimers Disease"
Our desire to raise funds for Alzheimer's research was never about mom. A cure wasn't likely in her lifetime. It's about her kids, her grandkids, the future. Having seen the disease up close we understand that while we will all lose loved ones, no one should lose them in the manner Alzheimer's takes them.
Please join us in whatever way you can. Walk with us, donate to our team and the cause or simply join our team with no other obligation as a sign of support.
Thanks!
