Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias have a ripple effect on families, particularly those in the “sandwich generation.” Caring for older family members with dementia, while juggling our own children, grandchildren, careers, and other relationships can be overwhelming. Our team is “Club Sandwich” because it represents our feelings of being sandwiched in the many important layers of our family members. 

Some of us are also part of a local monthly support group that provides time to share experiences, release stress, give and receive encouragement, access resources and feel understood. It's sort of like a club, but free and with no pressures. Anyone who can identify with our families is welcome to attend the meetings and ALL are welcome to support and/or walk with team Club Sandwich! 

We are walking to increase awareness of Alzheimer's and all dementia and raising funds to provide care and support for those with dementia and their families. Funding will also fuel critical research to better identify the effective treatments and preventions so the next generation may not have to contend with Alzheimer's and dementia!
