A NEGATIVE that was a POSITIVE! This spring I volunteered to participate in an Alzheimer's clinical trial sponsored by Eli Lilly. After passing several rounds of screening, I went to a clinic in Denver for a blood draw. My blood was tested for levels of Tau protein. A positive result would indicate a strong likelihood of developing ALZ/dementia and continuation in the study; a negative result would dismiss me. I'd be contacted in 12 weeks. 12 weeks to consider the "what ifs?" Fortunately, the ALZ Assoc. has made significant progress in research, early diagnostic tools, and therapeutics. In fact, this summer the drug Leqembi, which was found to reduce amyloid plaques, received full FDA approval and Medicare coverage. The work of the ALZ Assoc. begun many years ago, and funded by donors like you, is realizing impactful results that make the future brighter for those with ALZ and those who one day may face the disease. Luckily, my results were NEGATIVE. Please consider donating to my efforts to fund continued research. Thank You!
