I recently found paperwork on my grandfather Albert Spall showing that he was placed in the State hospital in the early 50s. They thought he was crazy. A very, very sweet man by all accounts, became angry, confused, and violent. The real truth is, we are sure that he suffered from Alzheimer’s. Yes, Alzheimer’s does run in my family. My uncle Les had Alzheimer’s. My cousin Stewart suffered from early Alzheimer’s. My cousin Bev, has Alzheimer’s. My mother and two of my aunts had Alzheimer’s. My brother who is only 10 years older than I am, is now showing signs of Alzheimer’s. it’s time for me to go to work!
Families facing Alzheimer’s and all other dementia need us now more than ever — and with your help, we can be there for them. Please make a donation or register as a participant and start your own fundraising. Together, we can end Alzheimer’s disease.
