I'm leading the way to Alzheimer's first survivor by participating in the Larimer County Walk to End Alzheimer's this Saturday, September 23rd. The Walk will begin and end at the New Belgium Porch at Canvas Stadium CSU. The forecast calls for a beautiful fall day. I always find the Walk very supportive and encouraging, seeing how many people are joining the fight to end Alzheimer's. Significant progress has recently been made to slow the mental decline in Alzheimer's. This is exciting, but the fight is not over. More research and trials are needed. The Walk is the world's largest fundraiser for Alzheimer's care, support and research and your help is needed.
I walk to honor my mother, Darlene, who we lost to Alzheimer's in 2008. I still miss her smile, her voice, her support - but I try to replace that loss by remembering all the fun times we had together.
Together, we can end Alzheimer's disease. Together we will see a world without Alzheimer's. You can help by donating to the Association through my fundraising page or join the Walk in Larimer County or in your community.
Thank you for joining the fight against Alzheimer's!
