As many of you know I have a very personal connection to Alzheimer's disease. At the age of 48 my husband, John was diagnosed with Young Onset Alzheimer's. This was very devastating to our family. At this time I knew very little about Alzheimer's. But, we found the Alzheimer's Association in Orange County and started attending a support group that helped us to understand this awful disease. I also made a number of life long friends at these meetings. Just a few years later at the age of 52 John passed away.
I walk because until death do us part should never come at the age of 52. I also walk in hopes that in the future no one in my family or yours will ever have to say they have a family member with Alzheimer's or any form of dementia. I choose to walk and volunteer with the Alzheimer's Association in the hopes that funds can be raised to put an end to Alzheimer’s. Many people have been, and will continue to be impacted by Alzheimer's, unless we raise funds to find a cure!
I'm leading the way to Alzheimer's first survivor by participating in the Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer's and all forms of Dementia. Currently, 5.8 million Americans have Alzheimer's and that number is expected to grow to as many as 16 million by 2050. Our future is at risk unless we can find a way to change the course of this disease.
Together, we can end Alzheimer's disease. Please make a donation to advance the care, support and research efforts of the Alzheimer's Association.
Please consider joining me on September 30, at Sendero Fields. So gather your family and friends to continue to raise funds and awareness!
Thank you for joining the fight against Alzheimer's!
