While my oldest brother was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease about 12 years ago, it led me on a journey that I never expected. By reaching out to the Alzheimer's Association for guidance and support, it helped me understand the disease and to search for more effective ways of interacting and connecting with my brother as the disease progressed. The Alzheimer's Association shared resources with me, cared for my well-being and helped me understand the disease and its impact on my brother and me. It made me feel that I was not alone.
Now, I am carrying it forward as a Community Educator with the Alzheimer's Association and by selecting the organization as my President's Charity for 2024-2025.
