In September 2016, 8 amazing actresses began rehearsing for the show Calendar Girls. It was two weeks after I moved my mother into assisted living as her Dementia had advanced too far for her to be safe at home.  These women were my rocks during this challenging time, and we have all become lifelong friends, much like the characters in the show.

In 2020 another of our Calendar Girls faced a similar situation. Karen's mom Loretta Welch was diagnosed with Alzheimer's.  Loretta was one of the kindest people we knew. Her love of theater and her love of life was infectious. Once again, we rallied together, this time around Karen and her family. Sadly we lost Loretta on August 24th, 2021. We walked for her in 2021.

In 2022, we walked again, this time for my Mom, Loretta, and for my Aunt Ruth (my mom's youngest sister), who we lost in 2022. And in 2023 we walked again. In 2024, we continue our legacy, and we will walk for all we have lost and for all those who continue to battle. But this year, we walk with hope because this year, there are new treatments available that treat the disease and not just the symptoms.
