I am walking this year in honor of my mother-in-law, Kay who suffered from this terrible disease for 11 years prior to it taking her life in 2020.
Prior to her diagnosis, Kay was an energetic, vibrant woman who was capable of meeting any challenge she faced. Kay truly loved her family, friends, Greek Community and her Greek Orthodox Faith. She was known to be the first one to arrive at a social event and the last one to leave cherishing every moment with family and friends. This disease robbed Kay of all of this as she was unable to communicate, care for herself, and was confined to a wheelchair for many years.
Patients and families facing Alzheimer’s and all other dementia need us now more than ever — and with your help, we can be there for them. Please make a donation or register as a participant for our September 9th walk in Graceda Park in Modesto and start your own fundraising.
Together, we can end Alzheimer’s disease.
Thank you!
