WE ALL HAVE A STORY, each one different, all are important.
Marguerite and Richard Vorst have a story of strength and courage. Married 66 years they shared a lifetime of love and perseverance. They raised three children who love them and miss them dearly. When Marguerite began to display signs of dementia, later diagnosed as Alzheimer's, Richard was by her side, providing support and care. Not always easy, yet he was committed to the very end. He exhibited the true meaning of "till death do us part."
A chain of events following seven years of ups and downs, Marguerite and Richard passed away within four weeks of one another. Marguerite struggled with the painful decline of Alzheimer's, both cognitively and physically. Richard struggled as he watched his wife of 66 years decline, yet committed to her care in their home.
Increasing the awareness of how Alzheimer's affects not only the persons afflicted, but the family and loved ones is crucial.
Please join me in support, coming alongside others by taking part in the Alzheimer's walk 2020, in any way you can. Your contribution will benefit those in the present and each day ahead.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
