Alzheimer’s disease is an epidemic affecting more than 5 million Americans. So many lives are impacted by this debilitating disease, but we can do something together to fight back. On Saturday, October 26th, the Legacy Team will be leading the way to finding a cure by participating in the Walk to End Alzheimer's. In only our second year, have increased our commitment to the cause as this year's Stage Sponsor of the event. I have also stepped up my personal commitment as the Executive Event Chair for the East Bay Walk. I feel honored and am also excited that my son, Joe Lofaso will be the Team Captain for Team Legacy.
This is a very personal cause for me. My father, Giuseppe Giovanni Lofaso, was stricken with Alzheimer’s while I was in High School. By the time I graduated college, he no longer recognized our family members and was taken from us shortly thereafter. Those final years were very tough on our family, just as it is for many other families who endure this hardship. I've personally learned about other Legacy Team members who have also been impacted directly by this disease and remain interested in hearing your personal stories.
Will you join us in the fight by walking for one to three miles at Bishop Ranch in San Ramon? As a team, we can be an unstoppable force against the nation's seventh-leading cause of death.
If you're unable to participate, please consider making a donation to the team or an individual team member. Every dollar advances the care, support and research efforts of the Alzheimer's Association.
Join us, and together we can make a real difference in helping to end Alzheimer's disease! Thank you in advance for your support.
