On November 12, I will be running the original marathon in Greece in honor of my mom to support the End of Alzheimer’s.
Running this race where my roots began has been a dream of mine for over 14 years. For the past 8 years, another dream has emerged, which is to End Alzheimer’s.
Much like everyone diagnosed with this disease, as well as their family, friends and everyone effected, it will be quite a journey. Pushing through the mental and physical aspects will be tiring and sometimes painful, but that’s nothing in comparison to the challenges of those affected by Alzheimer’s.
Just like the Greek messenger, Pheidippides, running from Marathon to Athens to deliver the news of the Greeks defeating the Persians. I will be running that same route in honor of my mom and to raise money for the end of this awful disease
The Pappageorge and Kockos families have teamed up in this fight. The week before my run, November 4, is the San Francisco Walk to End Alzheimer’s. We will have a group walking together and would love your support and participation!
