Alzheimer's is the 6th leading cause of death in the US and the only disease in the top 10 causes of death without a way to prevent, cure or even slow its progression. In the US alone, over 5 million people have the disease and there are over 16 million working to serve as their full-time caregivers. By 2025 it is expected that 20 states will see at least 35% or greater growth in the number of people with Alzheimer’s.

The Alzheimer's Association was formed in 1980 and is the leading voluntary health organization in Alzheimer's care, support and research.
