Alzheimer’s isn’t stopping and neither are we. By leading Gil's Posse in the Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s, I’m raising funds and awareness to advance the fight against this disease — funds that allow the Alzheimer’s Association to provide 24/7 care and support while accelerating critical research. Currently, an estimated 6.9 million Americans have Alzheimer’s and more than 11 million Americans provide unpaid care for someone with Alzheimer’s or another dementia. One in three seniors dies with Alzheimer’s or another dementia; you probably have at least one relative or friend who has or had Alzheimer’s.

My father, Gil, has Alzheimer’s disease. He is a distinguished Professor Emeritus of Physics at UCLA, who proudly wore his UCLA cap and sweatshirt on his daily walks in Mar Vista. He is now living comfortably in a local board & care, as he can no longer live safely at home.
