Why I Walk
A few years ago, my mom was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease and is fighting a brave battle, with this awful disease taking away a piece of her each and every day. She is a beloved wife, mom, aunt, sister and the best Nana in the world to all of her granddaughters. I am walking to honor her and am proud to be team captain of Nana's Brain Train for the Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer's on September 28, 2024 in Valencia, California.
This walk is the largest event to raise funds and awareness for the care and support services for patients and caregivers, educational programs to increase awareness and understanding of Alzheimer's disease and dementia, and critical research efforts of the Alzheimer’s Association®. Currently, more than 6 million Americans are living with Alzheimer's and over 11 million family and friends provide their unpaid care.
We need your help to end this devastating disease. You can make an impact with a donation - your kindness and generosity truly make a difference in the fight against Alzheimer’s and all other dementia. Thank you for your support! I feel blessed to have the support of my employer, Cardinal Health, and our Disability Advocate's Network (DAN) for this important cause.
