The fight against this disease became real to me and my family when my husband Phil was diagnosed with Alzheimer's 4 years ago. The journey as a caregiver for a loved one with Alzheimer's is by far the most challenging thing I've ever done. I have wonderful support of family and friends for which I am grateful. My hope is that the funds raised through this walk and others like it will support the research that is critically needed to end this disease. 

The goal of my team, SoCal Careblazers, is to raise awareness of the importance of supporting  caregivers on this difficulty journey of caring for a loved one with Alzheimer's or other forms of dementia. The Careblazers organization (Careblazers.com) has provided me with tools, knowledge, and support I need for this challenging path. By promoting Careblazers, I hope to share what I've learned with others thereby making their journey just a little easier.
