Dear Friends and Family,
I know first-hand how hard this disease is on families, especially the caregiver, so I walk not only to raise money for this organization, but also to raise awareness for Alzheimer's research, care and support.
My mother was a super lady who worked hard her whole life, and it saddened me to see the end of her life destroyed by such a terrible disease…. she had always been so independent and self-sufficient. During the 4 years she was sick I was able to keep her in her home with the help of family, friends, paid caregivers, 2 local daycare facilities and hospice near the end of her life. Together I think we made her feel as special as possible. I could never have taken such good care of her without the support of this great team.
Now we have a new team, one that walks to help raise money for those still struggling with this disease. Please make a donation to help me reach my goal of raising $6,000 for the Alzheimer’s Association. This money will be used to advance research into methods of treatment, prevention and, ultimately, a cure for Alzheimer’s. For the millions already affected by this disease, the Association offers care, education, support and resources in communities nationwide.
