Bob’s Story

Husband, brother, father, grandfather, great grandfather, religious leader, educator, friend, but above all, inspiration. While his title varies, Bob “Bobby” Sadorf has touched the lives of hundreds in his 87 years of life.

Throughout his life, Bob Sadorf always put his family first. His love for his family is never doubted, and was shown loud and clear in every room he walked into. Bobby’s legacy is obvious, you can ask his wife, Marilyn, any of his 6 children, 12 grandchildren, or 11 great-grandchildren and they can tell you just how Bob has made them who they are today. Bob always led and loved his family with kindness, and extended that kindness to anyone he met. 

Secondly was Bob’s community. Bob Sadorf was a retired educator from the Sierra Vista Unified School District, a retired Deacon for Our Lady of the Mountains Catholic Church, and founding member of the hiking group, Moses Trekkers located in Sierra Vista, AZ. Bob cared for every child, every member of his church, anyone who joined his hiking group, and every person who walked into his life. He supported those who were sick with weekly visits to a local nursing home, and always made sure every person feels welcome. Dedicated to his community is an understatement. His passion for education was unwavering, and his devotion to God is crystal clear. 

Bob Sadorf was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s in May of 2021, but the one thing that remained constant in his life is walking. Through career changes, new friends, a pandemic, and even age, Bob walked every day to maintain his physical health, which has always been very important to him. Making our walk dedicated to him even more special to those who love and cherish him. Bob unfortunately has left us this past year in November of 2023.He was able to pass away peacefully in the comfort of his own home surrounded by his wife, Marilyn, all of his children (Leonard, Paul, Mary, David, Monica & Therese), and a few of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The lasting impact Bob has had on the world is still apparent-- having a packed church for his funeral, full of people who he touched. We are walking to celebrate his wonderful life that he led, and to continue his legacy that he created for years to come.
