25 more days until I will be walking to raise money for ALZ research and support for those with Alzheimer’s and their caregivers. Even a small donation is a big help. More than 55 million people worldwide are living with Dementia. In the U.S. alone, more than 6 million Americans have the disease. There are more than 11 million unpaid caregivers.
These alarming statistics are more than just numbers for me. My husband, Lloyd, has been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s and I have friends and relatives who know, first hand, the challenges of dealing with this disease. Most likely, you know or have known someone with Dementia.
But there is something we can do . We can take a step forward to end this devastating disease. That's why I am participating on October 14, 2023 in the Alzheimer's Association WALK TO END DEMENTIA in Cottonwood, Arizona.
The Alzheimer's Association , the leading voluntary organization in Alzheimer's research, care and support, is dedicated to finding prevention methods, treatments and an eventual cure for the disease. Locally, the ALZ Assn. helps provide consultations, information and referral services, and support programs. I can personally attest to just how valuable these services are. My Cottonwood caregiver support group is a tremendous source of information and help for me.
If you are able, would you consider making a donation? I am so grateful to our friends and family who supported me last year. You can donate online, or , If you prefer to mail in a check, information to do that should be available. If you have any problems, please contact me. I do have the form and address. Checks could also be mailed directly to me and made out to ALZHEIMER'S ASSOCIATION. I can submit your check and form for you and send you a receipt.
Thank you in advance for your time and generosity.
Sincerely,
Margie
