Hello friends and family!
This year's Walk to End Alzheimer's in Tucson is Saturday, 10/26/24. I want to thank John Schmelke (my brother-in-law) for being last year's captain. The team is named "Many Fond Memories" to honor loved ones afflicted with Primary Progressive Aphasia who are presently participating in the University of Arizona Aphasia program and past participants now deceased. Primary Progressive Aphasia (PPA) is a neurodegenerative disorder that affects the ability to communicate and can be caused by Alzheimer's disease.
The Alzheimer's Association provides care and support for people living with dementia. It is also the world's largest nonprofit organization funding research on Alzheimer's. Please join me in supporting the Alzheimer's association in their efforts to advance the understanding, treatment and prevention of this devastating disease.
I invite you to join John and me at Reid Park in Tucson for this year's walk. We plan to gather as a team before the start of the walk. In mid-September I will send details to all who have signed up to walk as a "Many Fond Memories" team member. Our team's fundraising goal for the 2024 walk is $4,000. Please help us achieve (or exceed!) our goal.
With thanks,
Bill Herrington
