Dear Family and Friends,
Once again, I’m asking you to support the Walk to End Alzheimer’s on October 26, 2024. I will walk to honor the memory of Ray Foresman and his father Pete Foresman. Both men were brilliant individuals who could light up a room just by walking in and who could speak with knowledge and conviction to a crowd of any size. Both men were revered for their integrity, not only by their clients/customers, but also by anyone whose lives they touched. Both men were stricken with Alzheimer’s which destroyed them and damaged their families.
In this past year, a new drug was approved that slows memory loss and allows many people with early dementia symptoms to live full and joyful lives without the dread that tomorrow they might not remember who are their loved ones or even who they are. While not a cure, this new drug is a step in the right direction and proves that funding for more research is needed. In addition to funding such research, the Alzheimer’s Association provides support for Alzheimer’s patients and their families.
I’m sure you know someone who is battling this disease or you console a friend whose loved one is suffering from the loss of memory and disorientation that Alzheimer’s brings. As always, I’m asking you to contribute Chai to this cause. In Hebrew, chai is the number 18 and translates to mean LIFE. I’m asking you to donate at least $18 (and preferably multiples of $18) so that next year I can joyfully report that a vaccine has been found that will eradicate this horrible disease.
To my Tucson friends, remember that we celebrate the evening of the walk with a gala party at 63905 E Greenbelt, Tucson.
