Welcome to The Lorino's "Memory Lane" team page!
Our family decided to get involved in this year's Heart of Alabama Walk to End Alz for a number of reasons. First of all, to raise awareness of the disease and fundraise to help find a cure.
You may be wondering how we came up with our team name, Memory Lane. You see, the name of the street my parents live on is Parliament Lane and we grew up with some of the best neighbors around. One particular family that lives a few doors down, the Stephens, became life-long friends of ours. We nicknamed our street"The Lane" and still call it that to this day! Our neighbor, Karen, lost her battle to early onset Alzheimer's in 2019. We saw how terrible the disease was not only for her but also for her family.
Karen isn't the only person have known that was affected by the disease. My mom's dad, Jake, had Dementia, our cousin's grandmother, JoAnn, lost her battle to Alzheimer's and our friend's mom, Janice, also lost her battle with Alzheimer's.
Please join us in donating money to help find a cure that is so desperately needed. Any amount, big or small will make a difference!
Thank you!
