This year mark's the 12th year of our family's journey with Alzheimer's. It has turned our lives upside down. But, it has not defeated us. Our family has grown in number (Kyle, Lynne, Grayson & Graham George AND Katelyn & Mitchell Bruhn), We are stronger anb we love each other even more intensely; because that is how we honor Allyson -- it is what she would want us to do.
Allyson has always been a great example of grace, commitment and courage. She loved others as Christ expected of us, and that has made an indelible impact on people around the country and even around the world. While she cannot speak and walking is a challenge, we are pleased to let you know that she is still cheerful, content, happy to see people and always has a sweet smile. In short -- she is STILL ALLYSON. She and I just celebrated our 40th Wedding Anniversary on May 12; and she turns 63 on May 27!
Each year our family participates in the Walking to End Alzheimer's so we can fight back against this awful disease. Since I retired last year I plan to increase my efforts to raise $10,000 to fight back for the years that Alzheimer's has impacted our lives. Please help us reach our goal so more funds can go towards research to defeat this awful illness!!
But He said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weakness, so that Christ's power may rest on me. 2 Corinthians 12:9
