As many of you know, I walk in memory of my Mom who lost her 8 year battle with Alzheimer's in May 2014. I became active in the Alzheimer's Association shortly after she was diagnosed and will continue to advocate and fund raise for as long as I am able as I do not wish this disease on anyone, especially my family.
Every day I meet someone else that has some sort of connection to Alzheimer's and I find that so many lack a clear understanding of how they can make a difference. The more that people can know and understand about the disease, the more support we will have moving forward to gain federal funding for research and education.
I will always have great memories of my mom but I miss her hugs, her voice, and her strong faith every day. For those reasons, I walk for my Mom.....
